Arneson anode

Anodes sacrifice themselves for the benefit of the metals they protect. They must be cleaned and replaced regularly. Please note, when they are worn beyond 60%, they no longer retain their protective capacity. For seawater, either a zinc alloy or an aluminium alloy anode must be used. For equal current output, an aluminium anode weighs three times less than a zinc anode, has a greater electronegative potential and pollutes less. It is perfectly suited to protecting aluminium hulls. For navigation exclusively in fresh water, a magnesium anode should be preferred
