Zinc anode Vetus type

Zinc anode Vetus type

Anodes sacrifice themselves for the benefit of the metals they protect. They must be cleaned and replaced regularly. Warning: once they are worn by more than 60%, they no longer retain their protective capacity. For sea water, an anode made either of zinc alloy or of aluminium alloy must be used. For equal current output, an aluminium anode weighs three times less than a zinc anode, has a higher electronegative potential and pollutes less. Perfectly suited to protecting aluminium hulls. For navigation exclusively in fresh water, a magnesium anode should be preferred
