Anodes for BTQ - BTQR thruster
Anodes sacrifice themselves for the benefit of the metals they protect. They must be cleaned and replaced regularly. Warning: once they are more than 60% worn, they no longer retain their protective capacity. For seawater, either a zinc alloy anode or an aluminium alloy anode must be used. For an equal current output, an aluminium anode weighs three times less than a zinc anode, has a greater electronegative potential and pollutes less. Perfectly suited to protecting aluminium hulls. For exclusively freshwater use, a magnesium anode should be preferred. Bulk anodes are sold in minimum quantities of 5.
