The angled swivelling Moorena anchor connector, developed by KONG, is an anchor accessory designed to guarantee smooth anchor retrieval and perfect positioning as it comes up. Made of AISI 316 marine stainless steel, it offers lasting resistance to marine corrosion and ensures precise operation even with asymmetric anchors. Available in two versions for 6-8 mm and 10-12 mm chains, this anchor connector is easy to fit thanks to its fixed eye designed to take the shackle. Its swivelling system eliminates chain twist and makes passage through the bow roller easier, improving the safety and smoothness of manoeuvres. Operation and role of the Kong Moorena anchor connector When being retrieved, asymmetric anchors tend to arrive at the bow roller sideways or upside down. This connector solves the problem by automatically swivelling the anchor, allowing it to find the correct orientation before entering the bow roller or hawse pipe. This mechanical correction ensures fast, precise alignment without jamming. The anchor-side end has a fixed eye, designed to be connected with a shackle for a secure assembly. At the other end, the rotating part plays an essential role. It neutralises chain twist, preventing kinking and guaranteeing cleaner, more controlled deployment of the anchoring gear.
