Machinable plates

Machinable plates

Anodes sacrifice themselves for the benefit of the metals they protect. They must be cleaned and replaced regularly. Warning: once worn by more than 60%, they no longer retain their protective capacity. For seawater, either a zinc alloy or an aluminium alloy anode must be used. For equal current output, an aluminium anode weighs three times less than a zinc anode, has a higher electronegative potential and pollutes less. Perfectly suited to protecting aluminium hulls. For use exclusively in fresh water, a magnesium anode should be preferred. Loose anodes are sold in minimum quantities of 5.
