Ocean Signal S100 SART radar transponder

The SART 100 transponder is intended to assist in the search and rescue of crews on board lifeboats or liferafts. Once switched on, it remains on standby until it detects a sweep from an X-band radar from a nearby vessel. The SART 100 transponder then responds with a signal that is clearly displayed on the screen of the radar that interrogated it, in the form of a broken line indicating the bearing of the liferaft on which it is carried.
