Shaft collar anodes (large model)
Anodes sacrifice themselves for the benefit of the metals they protect. They must be cleaned and replaced regularly. Warning: once worn by more than 60%, they no longer retain their protective capacity. For sea water, an anode made either of zinc alloy or of aluminium alloy must be used. For an equal current output, an aluminium anode weighs three times less than a zinc anode, has a higher electronegative potential and pollutes less. Perfectly suited to protecting aluminium hulls. For freshwater use only, a magnesium anode should be preferred Anodes listed as BULK are sold in minimum quantities of 5 pieces.
